The "(/b)" is what you do when you're making your text look like this in order to stop doing it... Except it's actually < / b > (minus the spaces).

< b > text < / b > = text

It's to turn off the bold aspect of font...stuff. Okay, words no worky. Oh well.

That's an HTML tag. (b) starts bold font, and (/b) ends it. Only instead of parentheses, you use < and >.
