Mirror

Thumbnail.

Comic will appear for Monday, July 17, 2006.

Note: This is not a Harry Potter character, this is a recurring character from my own comic. She appears in the previous page as well.

Oooh, that's different!

I like it.

The more formal font fit it better than a standard comic font. Very very nice!

That's almost exactly the thought I had when I read about the mirror of Erised. :/

Beautiful! The style fits the concept beautifully - I don't think you could have illustrated the idea in nearly the same way with the simpler ink style from previous comics. I'd love to see more comics done this way... but not all of them, because I think it'd lose its charm.

Ooh, I like that guy's hair. And the gryphon seems to pop out of the frame. :D

This one is awesome.

Niceness.

[identity profile] makuus.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
*chuckles* Spot on. In fact, I have a habit of making a comment to that effect everytime I watch the first movie, after Dumbledore's comment that the mirror shows the heart's truest desire.

[identity profile] m32446.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Its absolutly beautiful.

[identity profile] ladyfox7oaks.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
WOW, that's gorgeous! Any chance of getting that in a print?

[identity profile] delcan.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Instantly, enthusiastically seconded.

[identity profile] shuvani11.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I loved her hair too! I love the magical-looking frame blending into the vision in the mirror.

[identity profile] clare-dragonfly.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's what I always figured I would see. Well, not that, but that.

Also, the art is gorgeous.

[identity profile] draco18s.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
VERY nice. I love it, I saw the picture and didn't even need the quote, I knew EXACTLY what it was. I thank you for this rendition of the Mirror of Erised, it pulls on the heartstrings just the right way. *tear and smiles*

[identity profile] valkyriur.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for presenting that. I felt that so much.

[identity profile] yaochi.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
While being unfamiliar with the mirror from Harry Potter, I have considered the magic of 'the looking glass' to be age old. And have envisioned images of the mysteries revealed in mirrors for years.

[identity profile] meirya.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That is beautiful and so very poignant. Thank you.

[identity profile] westly-roanoke.livejournal.com 2006-07-18 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
That tugged very strongly at my heart...

Thank you...

I want ...

[identity profile] cheerfuldragon.livejournal.com 2006-07-18 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Ohh, I want to look, I want to look.

[identity profile] steelwing.livejournal.com 2006-07-18 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Wow. I could spend quite a while in front of that mirror. I may not be a true 'theri', but I'd be entranced by that vision.

I love the backwards sentence, as well. It took me a minute to read it. :>

[identity profile] draco18s.livejournal.com 2006-07-18 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
The backwards sentecnce ("I show not your face, but your heart's desire") is JK Rowling's idea, but a good one none the less (also, it is called the Mirror of Erised, or back to front, the Mirror of Desire).

[identity profile] jrrhack.livejournal.com 2006-07-19 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Isn“t the character one evil guy?

[identity profile] jrrhack.livejournal.com 2006-07-19 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
okay. I am not potter fan, I dunno about the haircut stuff :)

[identity profile] jrrhack.livejournal.com 2006-07-19 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
the blond kid?

[identity profile] teacup-werewolf.livejournal.com 2006-07-19 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Beautiful artwork...
I feel like that sometimes. That If I look onto a mirror will see a white fuzzy wolf face instead of a human one. ^^ again lovely art

Stumbled across your comic while browsing LJ for other webcomics, and I must say:

Awesome. I am *very* glad that I did.

Mirror Mirror hanging there
Remind Waywind that we're here
Hanging 'round so plain to see
Waiting for a comic please
Mirror Mirror hanging there
Won't you show us that you care.

With the site down, is there a full sized version of this somewhere? I wanted to be able to read the quote and this pic is just way too small. :
