The comic for August 26!

What, another one? Yes!

The first birthday of Theri There is coming up soon on September 4... a whole year! Many webcomics never make it that far. Although I have a zillion scripts and comic ideas in my notebooks, there were stretches when I wondered if I could ever find the time to make finished versions of any of them. A comic a week sounds easy until you get into midterms, and once you've lost your pace at comic updates, it's hard to pick it up again.

In celebration of Theri There's upcoming birthday, I'm going to make sure that this will be a full year of comics. In the past, I've missed 17 of the weekly comics, and now I'm going to make up for each of them. That's why there's an additional update today: it's a replacement for January 16, the first update that I missed. It cuts the count of missed comics down to 16 and raises the list of finished comics to 32.

I like it :-D

And don't feel you have to pressure yourself to update weekly. Real life can occasinally get in the way of the internet, after all.

Awesome! Congrats on the upcoming anniversary. :)

Once you get past that first landmark or two, they'll start to fly by. I just realized today that Tomorrowlands is over six years old. (I started the journal on 6-24-2k and first officially linked to it on 8-14-2k.)

... Also, if I can offer some unsolicited advice ... my productivity is almost never lower than when I'm staring at a giant backlog, trying to hack it all down at once. You might work differently; your mileage may vary. But if it were me, I wouldn't worry about how far I'm "behind," and I'd set my one-year goal by looking only at forward projections. Such as, "From now until Sept. 4, I'll post a new comic every weekday," or "Starting now, for the indefinite future, I'll update twice a week." (You could continue just until the "backlog" is erased, or you could keep up the new schedule if it fires you up.)

Apropos of nothing, any plans for multi-strip storylines or recurring characters in the works?

Yay. I think it's more important that the comic has been actively updated for quite some time, not that it's merely existed for a year. Sure, you may have missed an update now and then, but life happens and gets in the way; we all understand that. Congrats, and thanks for writing it. :)

Thank you for the extra updates.

I definately want to say "Yaaeee!!" for new comics.

It doesn't matter if you do 20 or 30, or only 5.

Just please, no more month long gaps. It gets lonely out here :-).

Didn't the idea come from some old one panel comic strip?
Something about "you're a disgrace to Unicorns" said by one with one kind of horn (the corn I think) and part of a group to the only one with the other kind of horn.

No idea. If I knew I'd have posted it. Quick Google search didn't return anything.
