Image description: A single panel comic. The caption says, "Halloween is when our costumes are taken off." In the background, a row of people in business suits check their watches, and start unfastening their neckties and buttons. In the foreground, a businessperson removes their blazer, transforming into a tiger with an optimistic smile. Description ends.

Note from 2005: When offered a chance to wear a costume, some people dress as their opposite. Some dress as what they wish they were. And some go as themselves…

Sadness!
Date: 2005-10-31 02:03 pm (UTC)Nice strip today. I ought to go as a bird one of these days, but that'd be a bitch of a costume to make. Although... hm. Phoenix fursuit, or would that be a feathersuit in my case? Could be interesting.
Re: Sadness!
Date: 2005-10-31 04:08 pm (UTC)I made a last-minute bird costume for Halloween when I was ten. Mostly just a black outfit with paper-feathered cardboard wings and tail hung on it. It looked complete, though, so that's probably all that's needed to casually convey "bird" ...aside from mask/headgear that would help convey "No, a bird, not an angel."
My costume was made less ambiguous by my reciting a verse of Poe's "The Raven" at each door.
